Welcome to DPK - the ministry of CrossPointe where newborns to fifth graders can come to learn about God and grow closer to Him in a safe, fun and contemporary environment. Here they will experience the love of God through the kindness of volunteers and especially the truth of His Word. This is a place where the Gospel is preached through the songs we sing, the scripture we read, and the lessons specifically designed to communicate with children.
Preschool aged children have a blast each week as they dance and sing, make crafts, and learn a bible story and memory verse. Ages 2 through 5 are taught 3 main truths about God through Orange’s First Look curriculum:
1. God made me.
2. God loves me.
3. Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Our big kids also participate in worship through music videos, hearing a lesson, learning the different books of the bible, fun crafts, and memory verses. We use Kid Connection, written by Faith Alive, to teach our 6 year olds though 5th graders. They also learn 3 main truths about God:
1. God is sovereign.
2. God is love.
3. God is enough.
No matter what the age, we believe that all kids need to know Truth and live the Truth of the Gospel daily. So while your children will gain a lot of knowledge, they will also learn how to apply what they’ve learned. Our goal is to equip these mini-missionaries to shine the light of Christ wherever they go!

DiscoveryPointe Kids is available every Sunday morning at 9:15 and 11, and Saturday evening at 5:30.
Each nursery session in our Noah Baby room (0-1) and our Jonah Waddler Room (1-2) offers children engaging play activities, Bible story time, appropriate worship music and loving attention from our nursery leaders. We strive to create a safe, loving, inviting and caring place for all the children in the nursery. Our nursery leaders provide hands-on loving care to infants, babies and toddlers, allowing their parents to attend worship services and other events with the knowledge that their children are safe and secure.
Our toddler room and pre-school classrooms are geared to teaching 2-3 and 4-5 year olds three main concepts 1) God made me 2) God loves me 3) Jesus wants to be my friend forever. Our teachers prepare and study lessons from our FirstLook bible-based curriculum. Each week is full of objects for kids to touch, wild and wiggly activities to get them moving, crafts they will love getting into, and real life situations they can relate to. Our goal is to help each child master one concept at a time by creatively repeating the Bottom Line in a way that it will stick. Each teaching session begins with the teacher starting activities to introduce kids to the day's topic and help them feel welcome and comfortable in their classroom. Next, children take part in a large group time that includes a Bible story and worship.
We would love to invite your K-5th grader to DiscoveryPointe Kids during any of the worship services. It is our hope that at DiscoveryPointe Kids, your child will experience the best day of their week through live drama, awesome music, fun activities, and great Bible learning in an environment created just for them. Each child will have the opportunity to experience God and His Word like never before. All kids are placed in both small groups and large groups where they build friendships with other kids and their leaders. It is our goal that the kids in this age group will learn.
Is it okay to bring my child to service with me?
Yes, you can bring your child to the service with you. Please consider that our services are intended for adults and sometimes the topics are not appropriate for children. We believe children can grasp who Jesus is at any age. Our kids’ services are geared just for them, providing a fun, creative, age-appropriate, interactive church experience. Each weekend we use video, music, crafts and storytelling to bring Jesus’ story alive. This isn’t childcare for your children, this is DiscoveryPointe Kids.
How do you keep my child safe?
We have a state-of-the-art check-in system that generates a random numeric code each time you check in. This code is printed on the child’s tag and the matching parent receipt. You must check your child in before you drop off your child. You must present this receipt to pick up your child. The parent receipt can only be printed once to ensure your child’s safety. We also do complete background checks and applications before someone can become a member of our team.
What if my child needs me?
The numeric code on your parent receipt will appear on the screens in the front corners of the worship center during the service. Please go directly to your child’s classroom.
When will my child go to the next classroom with DiscoveryPointe Kids?
Our classrooms are split up by age, not school grade. This means that your child will move up to the next classroom on or right after their birthday. This ensures that the transition of students into the next classroom is more fluid and has less impact on the classroom. If you have any questions please feel free to contact a member of the CrossPointe Children’s Ministry Staff.
Is there a private area where I can nurse my baby?
Yes. A ministry team member will show you where the nursing area is located.
How do you keep things clean?
Toys and equipment are cleaned with Clorox anywhere spray after each service. We use single-use gloves during diaper changes, and we keep latex-free gloves on hand for latex allergies. Our midweek team cleans rooms thoroughly each week to prepare for the weekend services. We have a well-child (and ministry team) policy. Please do not bring your child if they have had a fever within the past 24-hours, colored drainage, a cough, or any other contagious illness.
