What is DPK?

Discovery Pointe Kids is a children’s ministry uniquely designed with your child in mind! Every Sunday all children (babies through 5th grade) experience safe, age-appropriate environments where the Bible is taught in a creative and relevant way. We are so passionate about kids learning about Jesus in a way they can understand that we encourage all children to attend DPK. We would love to see you and your family visit DPK at a CrossPointe campus this Sunday. Join the fun and experience a world where kids meet Jesus on their level!

On Wednesday nights, children K-5th grade can attend DPKLive, our midweek version of DPK!
Doors open at 6pm for dinner followed by worship, Bible study, and fun!
What are DPQs?

Discovery Pointe Questions (DPQs) are designed to help you better connect with your kids on what we study at DPK for K-5th grade!
March 23rd DPQs

We have had a great month so far looking at COOPERATION.  This week, we looked at a familiar story of four committed friends that wouldn’t give up on their friend until he was seen and healed by Jesus.  Luke 5:17-26 tells us that even though they couldn’t get in through the front door, they made a door in the roof and lowered their friend down to Jesus.  Sometimes being a friend means we have to work hard.  As we see this week though, working together can make our friendships grow, and we can do more than we ever thought possible.

Here are some questions to get your conversation started:

1) When the friends in the story ran into an obstacle, what did they do?  What would you have done?

2) What are some ways that you can join together with others to do things for people?
(While kids may not think they can do much to help, there are so many ways they can help others.  One big way is to pray!  They can color a picture for someone who is sick or sad, or they can even just be with a friend and be company.)

March's Memory Verse:

"TWO PEOPLE ARE BETTER THAN ONE. THEY CAN HELP EACH OTHER IN
EVERYTHING THEY DO."

KEEP UP WITH DPK

There are multiple ways to keep up with DPK @ CrossPointe Church!

Head to the Children's Check-in area and we will help check your child into Church Community Builder, our database system, and one of our staff or volunteers will lead your child to their age-appropriate room. We'll take some time to get to know you. We'll ask about allergies, make sure we know what your child likes to be called, and collect your contact information.

Then, you and your child will both get a sticker with a matching code. If for any reason we need to reach you during the gathering, we will try to text you first and if that doesn't work you'll see your code in the top corner of the worship center screens. This sticker is also what you'll use to pick-up your child after gathering.

The safety and security of every child in DPK is our highest priority! This value manifests itself in many ways:

Every toy and environment is cleaned and sanitized to insure that germs and bacteria are not spread.

Every volunteer is screened with an extensive, seven step vetting process that we call the 'Kidsafe' process. This process includes an application, interview, reference checks, a federal background check, training, testing and placement.

Our whole team; from staff members to room leaders to security team - are vetted and trained to keep your kids safe!

Our desire is to ignite a passion in the next generation to follow Jesus with the aim to be gospel-centered disciple makers that know and love Jesus above all else! One of the ways that we do this is through our curriculum.

Curriculum for our older kids (K-5th) is developed and edited by a team of staff and volunteers that formulate age appropriate content for kids of all ages.

Curriculum for our younger kids (birth-5yo) is provided by Kenny & Elle Campbell @ Grow Curriculum.

Our curriculum is often connected to the message series that our adults are going through. so that our church is all on the same page and parents can easily engage with their children about what they are learning.

All DPK services strive to be fun, engaging and fruitful for the children involved

We want kids to know there are people at church who care about them. As teachers commit to serving in the same service each week, children (and parents) begin to recognize familiar faces where relationships can grow.

Kids love fun! We create fun ways for children to learn about Jesus, including games, activities and singing. When children have fun at church, they can't wait to come back.

We encourage parents to keep the conversation going on the car ride home. We provide take home resources for parents for every lesson! Want to get more involved in what your child is learning? Follow Discovery Pointe Kids on Facebook to keep up with each week's key takeaway and Bible story.

The moms' viewing room is a place where mothers with newborns can spendsome time with their little ones and still watch the service together in a private environment.

Children must be free of any ailments such as fever, vomiting, runny nose and drainage for 24 hrs before returning to DPK. Children that are identified with with these issues are removed promptly from the room.

Despite our best efforts, we may still come across commonly hidden ailments such as, flu, strep, hand foot and mouth, lice, etc. We commit to transparent communication with every parent in a room that may have an apparent outbreak.

We are always interested in connecting with people that want to impact young lives for Jesus!

If you're interested in serving in our children's ministry area please complete The Kidsafe Application.

All volunteer candidates are screened with an extensive, seven step vetting process that we call the 'Kidsafe' process. This process includes an application, interview, reference checks, a federal background check, training, testing and placement.

Meet the team.
